How a shift works

  1. Tap what's different. On either picture. The right one has the five changes; the left one is the control. He is very proud of being the control.
  2. Misses are free. Blorbo says “Hmm. No.” and you carry on. Nobody is keeping a tally of your wrong guesses. He is, but only emotionally.
  3. Hints are free too. A little magnifier hovers near one difference for two seconds. The share line counts hints, honestly.
  4. The clock is quiet. It only shows up at the end, and it pauses when you leave the tab. There's no countdown, ever.
  5. Keyboard, or no pictures at all. Tab to a picture, ← → ↑ ↓ move the lens, Enter checks, H for a hint. Or press Describe it instead and solve it from Blorbo's written notes.

Questions Blorbo gets asked

Is it the same for everyone?

Yes. Blorbo only made one. Everyone who opens the Daily Squint on the same date gets the same two pictures, the same suspect costume and the same five differences.

When does the new puzzle come out?

At midnight, your time. The puzzle follows your own calendar, so nobody gets tomorrow's early, and there is no countdown. It just shows up. Every past puzzle is in the archive.

What happens if I miss a day?

Nothing bad. Every day you solve counts as a shift. Miss one day in a week and Blorbo covers that shift, so your run keeps going. Back shifts from the archive count for the archive, not the run. Three shifts earn Blorbo a deerstalker, and seven earn him a gold lens.
